Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making alcanside.com usable for everyone. Last reviewed: 17 June 2026.

Our commitment

ALCANSIDE wants its website to be accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

We believe everyone should be able to browse our products, place an order, and get support, regardless of how they access the web. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task, and we keep working to improve the experience for all of our visitors.

Note: This statement is provided as a starting template. Confirm the actual conformance level with an accessibility audit and update it accordingly.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, and they are the recognised international standard for web accessibility.

Current status: we are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have not yet completed a full independent accessibility audit, and we treat conformance as an ongoing goal.

As we add new pages and features, we test against these guidelines and address issues we find.

What we do

To support accessibility across our website, we work to apply measures such as:

  • Semantic HTML: using meaningful structure and headings so the content is easy to navigate with assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard navigation: making sure key features can be reached and operated without a mouse.
  • Sufficient colour contrast: choosing text and background colours that remain readable.
  • Descriptive alt text and labels: describing images and labelling form fields so they make sense when read aloud.
  • Responsive, mobile-friendly layout: adapting the design to different screen sizes and devices.
  • Respecting reduced-motion preferences: limiting animation for visitors who have asked for less motion.

We pay particular attention to the parts of the shop our customers rely on most:

  • Product pages and variant selectors
  • Personalisation fields, where you add a name or number
  • The cart and checkout flow
  • Forms and clear error messages
  • Order tracking and support pages

European Accessibility Act

The European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) sets accessibility requirements for a range of products and services, including e-commerce, across the European Union. Since 28 June 2025 these requirements apply to many e-commerce services in the EU. As a webshop serving customers in the EU, we work to align our website with the accessibility requirements that apply to e-commerce services under this Act, and we keep improving as the relevant standards develop.

United States (ADA)

For visitors in the United States, we aim to provide an accessible experience and to address barriers that may prevent people with disabilities from using our website.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of our website may not yet fully conform to the guidelines. Some third-party tools, such as payment providers, review widgets, cookie consent tools or embedded forms, are not fully under our control and may not always meet the same standards. The same can apply to older media that predates our current approach. We work to identify and fix these issues as we find them, and we welcome reports that help us spot problems sooner.
